Dorset’s recognisable landscape provides a huge range of amazing places to explore.
There’s idyllic villages Shaftesbury, Evershot and Milton Abbas, the historic seaside towns of Lyme Regis, Swanage and Bournemouth, iconic costal formations Durdle Door, Old Harry Rocks and the famous Jurassic Coast, plus the hustle and bustle of Dorchester.
A great way to uncover the hidden secrets of all these locations and have a lot of fun at the same time it with a Treasure Trail.
From a Treasure Hunt at Corfe Castle to a Murder Mystery Trail at Beauminster, there’s loads to choose form across the country.
Designed for ages from six to 106, there are no fewer than 63 Treasure Trails to choose from across Dorset with enticing tiles like ‘Moreton & Lawrence of Arabia’, ‘Minterne Gardens in Summertime’, and ‘Treasures Of The Keep’ in Dorchester.
The Trails cost £9.99 (plus P&P if required), are suitable for groups of up to five and, compared to the average family day out at a theme park or visitor attraction, represent amazing value for money.
Lasting around two hours, the aim is to solve clues on a circular route of approximately two miles incorporating plaques, signs, statues, monuments, images, engravings or any other unique or quirky features found in the area.
They can be downloaded from Treasure Trails’ website (www.treasuretrails.co.uk) and printed immediately, or sent in the post.
