A fantastic day of folk dance and music with a strong Morris theme but including many other international and local dancers. At least 21 dance groups are performing at four town centre locations - that's about 160 dancers, 50 musicians and a lot of hankies and sticks!
There will be activities for the whole family including a children’s fun fair, join in dances, a nine foot tall giant Jack In The Green with his entourage “greening” visitors to herald in the summer, Mummers’ plays, pagan arts and crafts fair, live English, Irish/Scottish, French and Appalachian music sessions in pubs and cafes, a children’s fancy dress competition, town window dressing and a community groups’ market. Lots of great food and drink in the town’s pubs. A programme packed with special offers and discount coupons for town shops and businesses.
