The Somerset Levels are renowned for the diversity and beauty of their wildlife. There are numerous nature reserves in the Levels which have protected and attracted scarce species of birds such as the Cranes, Bitterns and Great White Egrets. One such reserve, RSPB Swell Wood, is right on the doorstep of the church, and is well-known for its large heronry where many Grey Herons nest in early March.
To celebrate the wonders of our local wildlife we are planning to hold an Exhibition of Photographs by local photographers in the Stable Cafe and Church Hall in the first week of March 2019. The exhibition will open at on Monday 4th March until Saturday 9th March. Each day from 10.00am to 5.00pm The Stable Community Coffee Shop will serve real coffee, delicious cakes and paninis.
Local photographers are invited to submit up to three prints (max. size 12″ x 8″ or 30cm x 20cm) by Saturday 23rd February. Photos must be of wildlife in Somerset, taken by photographers who live in Somerset. Prints can be mounted on card/foamboard or unmounted. We will supply Velcro dots.
