The 'Ragged Victorians – 'The Great Unwashed' are an award winning living history group, re-enacting the lower classes of Victorian England, c1851.
They will be taking up residence over the weekend of 18th & 19th August at the Nothe, where they will be 'living' in the tunnels and cellars under the Fort.
The Nothe Fort Victorian Artillery will be in attendance, firing their Victorian Cannons, following their inspection by Queen Victoria, at the start of the day!
Enjoy some Music Hall entertainment in the company of Marie Lloyd and other performers from the era, visit the Victorian School Room, the Victorian pub and take part in some traditional games and activities. Watch local artists recreating traditional crafts, and relax in the Nothe Café – hopefully in the sunshine! There will be activities around the fort for the children, and the exhibition of Matchstick Fleet will still be in residence.
