A new exhibition of prints and books by Rena Gardiner has opened at the Priest's House Museum and Garden in Wimborne. It will run until the 18 August 2018.
Rena lived in Dorset for much of her life and was an artist, printer and publisher. She hand crafted and produced an eye catching range of beautifully illustrated and colourful guides to towns and villages, religious buildings and historic houses. Her distinctive style was a result of the printing techniques she used and her artistic skill. As a result every copy of her books is unique. At the height of her career she received commissions from the National Trust, abbeys and cathedrals.
This exhibition of 15 of Rena’s prints and paintings is drawn from two private collections. They are displayed alongside a selection of her self published guide books and examples of two of her sketchbooks from her travels.
