Peppa Pig's Best Day Ever! The Review
Country Childs Event Contributor was asked to review the latest Peppa Pig show at Theatre Royal Winchester, here’s what she had to say…
In much the same way that many families relish a trip to the theatre, going to see a new and upcoming show was something that I was thoroughly looking forward to. And I have to admit, Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever! at the Theatre Royal Winchester, certainly left a smile on both mine and my children’s faces!
I found the narrator and main character Daisy, (played by Lizzie Burder) very relatable and a pleasure to watch. The show included a multitude of my children’s favourite characters, including the ever-busy Miss Rabbit, and the loud and proud Mr Bull.
The variety of songs throughout the show allowed for lots of audience participation - with the musical statues game proving popular for the children throughout the theatre! The ‘North, South, East, West’ song, as well as the ‘Bong, Bing, Bong’ and ‘Muddy Puddles’ song meant that many of the children got the opportunity to get involved and sing along with their favourite characters, which was so lovely to see.
The jokes and wit that was intertwined throughout the performance had many of the children (and parents) laughing and smiling, and the gradual introduction of their favourite characters throughout the show saw all the children immersed from start to finish.
I have to admit, as this was the first time I had taken my two toddlers to the theatre, I was slightly apprehensive. But once the show had begun, they were amazing and it was such a pleasure to see their faces light up as the show progressed - my children really enjoyed the dancing Knights and wanted to see them again and again!
I would definitely come and see this show again - it was a morning very well spent and has been a solid topic of conversation within our house! Thank you Theatre Royal, Winchester.
