Bryanston Equestrian Centre Flourishing, Following Record Pupil Numbers & Extended Facilities

Within today’s society, the role that sport plays within an individual’s development and progression is just as important as the academic side of learning…

Bryanston School near Blandford in Dorset thrives upon the concept that a passion for sport is key, and this could not be more evident now that the school’s Equestrian Centre is seeing a record number of pupils excel. Following its recent extensive refurbishment and development of its facilities, the equestrian centre has enjoyed its most successful year yet, and it seems that the only way is up!

Having the right environment, support and encouragement is vital for any youngster looking to fulfil their potential in a particular sport without compromising the development of broader life skills and academic progress. For children looking to develop their equine skills, it’s all more challenging because of the time commitment and pressures that come with caring for a horse.

All pupils who have chosen equestrian as their main sport are actively encouraged to embrace all other aspects of life at the School and all academic, sporting and social activities are underpinned with Bryanston’s core values of creativity, individuality, resilience and personal fulfilment. Pupils compete at inter-school equestrian events as well as affiliated and unaffiliated events in all disciplines. And, in addition to the School’s team of equestrian coaches, pupils also benefit from exclusive access to the advice and guidance of Russell Guire, a highly respected authority on bio-mechanics who continues to play a key role in helping riders on both the World Class Programme and Team GB.

From humble beginnings, the Bryanston Equestrian Centre has grown to become a widely respected resource and environment for developing the skills of young riders. And I’m delighted we now have a growing range of facilities and support to not only help young riders to excel in the different equestrian disciplines, but also to provide all pupils at the School with the opportunity to experience the enjoyment of horse riding.
