Hugh Bonneville opens Charity Flower Wall

The Rare Brand Market is delighted to have funded and project managed the creation of a flower wall in support of Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex with help from florist Susie Babington to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Rare Brand Market was delighted that local resident and star of Downton Abbey and Paddington, Hugh Bonneville was present to officially open the charity flower wall. Breast Cancer Haven aims to raise awareness of how Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex seeks to help everyone with breast cancer including men who are often overlooked.

Hugh Bonneville was presented with a small garland to symbolise the opening of the Breast Cancer Haven Flower Wall. Hugh Bonneville gave some words of thanks, had photographs taken to be used for publicity purposes and had a tour of the centre, meeting staff and visitors. “Thanks to The Rare Brand Market which has supported this magnificent flower wall, created by independent florist Susie Babington; it highlights the inspirational work carried out by Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex at their centre, here in Titchfield, in the run up to October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month”.

The Rare Brand Market

Our next curation of inspirational brands will take place at Winchester’s Guildhall on November 14th & 15th and at Goodwood Racecourse, Chichester on November 22nd – 24th. We love to give back so a proportion of door monies will be shared amongst the charities we support, including Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex. Founder of The Rare Brand Market, Emma Schwarz is “thrilled to champion independent florist, Susie Babington and reflect the inspiring and positive work carried out by Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex. Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex

The national Breast Cancer Haven charity, founded by Sara Davenport in 1997 supports anyone affected by breast cancer for free. Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex opened its welcoming centre in Titchfield, Hampshire, in 2015, and it is from here that counsellors, therapists and health professionals offer the support needed to help individuals facing their personal challenge of living with breast cancer. Breast Cancer Haven is proud that their Titchfield centre, serving the Wessex region, forms the backdrop to this beautiful floral display to be enjoyed by visitors to the centre and passers-by in the run up to Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. Breast Cancer Haven’s Corporate Fundraiser Sarah Woods is “delighted that The Rare Brand Market and Susie Babington Gardens have collaborated to give us such a stunning building façade to launch October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This will kick start a bumper month of raising vital funds and awareness to ensure that anyone affected by breast cancer gets the support they need.“ www.breastcancerhaven.org.uk/wessex

Susie Babington - Florist

Hampshire-based florist and previous exhibitor at The Rare Brand Market, Susie Babington, turned her passion for creating beautiful landscapes to indoor 'tablescapes' when asked to create floral centrepieces for a friend's 40th birthday party. A new business was born and now Susie designs floral themes for events, weddings and parties across the Home Counties and London.  Inspired by the warmth, comfort and safety that exudes from Breast Cancer Haven, Wessex, Susie has created a powerful and positive floral display inspired by garlands long-used in Indian culture to symbolise amongst other things ‘love and compassion’. Covering the front of their Titchfield centre, this large-scale display of locally sourced, in-season flowers, mirrors the Breast Cancer Haven brand’s colours. Susie is thrilled to be part of this project due to the personal experience she has had with breast cancer in her family. “Having been the primary carer to my mother during her battle with cancer, I was delighted to lend a hand to this project to raise awareness of the disease, which sadly affects so many of us today, either directly or indirectly, and of the Breast Cancer Haven which supports not only the patient but the family too – so important during difficult times”. www.susiebabingtongardens.co.uk/
