The Fresh Kitchen Organic Kids’ Club workshops give children the chance to create a main meal and pudding from scratch, using organic ingredients. Children will learn how to measure, weigh, roll and knead, while putting their tasting skills to the test.
Each workshop costs £15 which covers the equipment required and ingredients. Chef hats are also provided and children are encouraged to take their finished products home. The workshops are designed for children aged 6-12 years and cater for all abilities.
Natasha Beatty, founder of the Fresh Kitchen Organic Kids’ Club, commented: “We offer hands on foodie fun and believe in giving children the best relationship with food they can get. We want them to understand that it’s ok to question where food is from and encourage them to try new tastes and textures, as well as educating them around chemicals and pesticides.
“We have fun, we make mess and they learn the most important life skill – to feed themselves and their future families as well.”
John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, commented: “If you’re looking for something different to do with your little ones during the holidays, then this is perfect for you. We are delighted that Natasha is bringing her Kids’ Club to the Eco Hub for a series of workshops and look forward to welcoming her.”
The Eco Hub launched earlier this year as part of the Dolphin’s ongoing commitment to sustainability. It is open during the centre’s regular opening hours and is free to use. Email info@dolphinshoppingcentre.co.uk with any booking enquiries.
John added: “The Eco Hub is a great opportunity for people to use the dedicated in-centre space for workshops and exhibitions. We encourage other group leaders to get in touch with us to find out more about using the free community space.”
